The First LOK PM Training Held – “How to Inform the Youth at Local Level”
Within the project “Local Authorities and Youth”, YIA (OIA) organised the first in the series of trainings on local youth policy, between December 1-3rd, 2006. The training under the title “Informing of Youth on Local Level” was organised for 36 participants including municipal officers for youth issues, the members of the committees for youth within OV/SO (Municipal Councils/Municipal Assemblies), the members of counseling boards of young heads, the representatives of other structures responsible for youth issues at local level, youth officers who possess more experience, the representatives of youth organisations who are involved in the management of the organisations, programmes or projects.
The contents of the training was primarily related to the activities that the local authorities might use in order to effectively attract youth to participate in different programmes, the methods they might use to animate the youth, and the methods that the authorities and the youth might use to develop in conjunction the local youth policy.
The participants were presented the European models in the field of informing the youth on local level, and the current BiH practice, as well as the documents regulating this field in Europe and Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the course of training, concrete proposals were given concerning the methods that municipality and youth organisations might use to design special youth info-desks according to European standards or how to develop the skills required for the better quality in the communication between the youth and the local authorities.
The participants who took part in the complete training received a special certificate on completed training in this field.
The training was composed of the series of presentations, interactive workshops, discussions, brainstorming, work in smaller groups, accompanied by usage of prepared working documents, concrete examples, experimental cases and other.
