Study tour for NAJglasače (BEST voters) - (19.02– 25.02.07)

Youth Information Agency BiH, supported by Open Society Fund realised the study tour from 19th to 25th February, 2007. Within this study tour, five young people from various cities of BiH visited Ljubljana, Munich, Strasbourg, Paris and Brussels. The tour was envisaged as the educational one and, at the same time as the prize for the winners of SMS Contest for BEST voters where all young people between 18 and 30 years old, who on 1st of October voted at parliamentary elections, were entitled to participate.

The winners of this unusual contest are Amela Isović, Orhana Midžić, Mladen Kosanović, Dino Mujanović and Haris Krajina. The objective of study tour was to familiarise these people with the working methods and results of BiH Mission in Strasbourg and Brussels, Council of Europe, European Court of Human Rights, EU Parliament, but also with the work of some distinguished European youth agencies such as SALTO SEE Resource Youth Centre and Youth Information Centre Slovenia – both based in Ljubljana, Centre for Information and Documentation on Youth in Paris, and European Youth Forum with headquarters in Brussels.

The study tour programme was very extensive and dynamic and as such promised a kind of adventure, concerning the fact that mobility of youth in our country is poor and young people do not get many opportunities to participate in such events or to organise something similar by themselves.
