1. Conference about young people in Sarajevo Canton (25 May 2007)

First conference about young people in Sarajevo Canton "Young People through the Prism of Future" was held on Friday, 25 May 2007 at the Youth Centre, Skenderija - Sarajevo. By gathering of governmental and non-governmental sector representatives who work on issues related to young people, the aim of the organizer of this meeting, Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton, Mr. Samir Silajdzic, was to make an overview of the situation of young people in SC and make conclusions and recommendations for preparation of Youth Program 2007/08. 

B&H OIA participated in preparation of this conference, and its facilitators were engaged for certain conference groups, while introductory presentation about the position of young people was given by Sanja Kavaz, OIA’s PR person.

Conference was attended by approx. 40 representatives of NGOs and youth organizations, international and public institutions operating in Sarajevo Canton and representatives of cantonal authorities and ministries in charge of youth issues. Based on the Work Program that envisaged work in groups, participants chose the relevant group on the basis of their area of interest/occupation. Working groups were then placed in different rooms, and during specified period of time they worked on the following topics:  

1. Education of young people
2. Health of young people
3. Employment and housing for young people
