FIRST YOUTH INFO POINT IN PLACE (Mostar, 06.09.2007.)

Youth information agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (YIA BiH) set its first YOUTH INFO POINT in BIH in the main hall of Hercegovačko-neretvanski county in Mostar on 6th September 2007 at 10.30h. On this special occasion, the following persons shared few words:
Matthew Rycroft, H.E. Ambassador of United Kingdom
Srećko Boras, Premier HNK/Ž
Božo Ćorić, Head of Section for social activities in Mostar
Jan Zlatan Kulenović, Executive Director of YIA BiH

On this occasion, it was said that many talk about passive role of youth in BiH, forgetting that the main reason is youth not to being informed on political system in BIH, all services, organisations, relevant institutions, their rights and existing programmes for them. That is the reason why YIA BiH with support from British embassy, Fond Open Society BiH and Olof Palme Center/SIDA, implements project YOUTH INFO POINT as a part of its youth info service.

Youth info point is one of the simplest tools for local authorities for informing youth in local community. It is a B1 poster offering information on contacts on ALL important services, institutions, public institutions with programmes and activities specially designed for youth. In First autumn round, info points will be installed in 40 BH cities: Bihać, Cazin, Goražde, Jablanica, Kakanj, Konjic, Livno, Maglaj, Srebrenik, Stolac, Široki Brijeg, Travnik, Tuzla, Velika Kladuša, Vitez, Zavidovići, Zenica, Bosanska Krupa, Bugojno, Banja Luka, Bosanska Gradiška/Gradiška, Bosanski Novi/Novi Grad, Derventa, Doboj, Foča, Laktaši, Milići, Modriča, Mrkonjić Grad, Prnjavor, Srbac, Šekovići, Trebinje, Ugljevik, Zvornik, Bijeljina, Prijedor, Vlasenica and Brčko District.

All youth info points will be set in a visible place in the building of local authorities, secondary schools, university centre, city library or/and other places where young people can see it. Also, full contents of info point will be uploaded to the largest portal for informing youth in BiH – www.mladi.info. Youth info point has standardised form and all local information are sorted in 10 categories: Youth of BiH, State and Youth, Rights, Education, Job, Health, Leisure time, Organisations, Informing and Travelling.
