YOUTH, SPORT, ACTION - ZAVRŠNI SKUP U ENGLESKOJ (9.2007.)
At the beginning of 2007, as a part of the project Youth, Sport, Action implemented by British Council and youth organisations from 10 countries of the region, YIA represented BIH in forming partnership with Sefton Youth Service. The project in question was called “Lobbying for better sports grounds on the territory of Sarajevo Canton”. After the action in July, a visit of guests/partners from England at the end of August, a visit to Great Britain was organised. From 25th August to 2nd September 2007, on behalf of YIA, team of eight peer educators of TAM Sarajevo, TAM leader Sarajevo Ena Gotovuša and Executive Director of YIA Jan Zlatan Kulenović. Final activity of this British Council’s international project took place on 30 August 2007 on Manchester City stadium, where all projects are presented. Total of 11 countries participated with organisations from Britain. Many visited this event, ambassadors of participating countries, media and large number of young people.
After final event, a party was organised in one of well known hotels Manchester – on this occasion, there was a short film presenting the whole project. YIA team and partners from Great Britain visited Youth Centre in Formby and participated at the round table with local authorities of Formby discussing “Lobbying for the new skating centre in Formby”. This was a great opportunity for spending time together, exchange of experiences and making new friends. The last two days our team spent in beatufiul Liverpool.
