INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR "FUTURE OF YOUTH IN EUROPE", OPATIJA 10.2007.

In the period from 8th to 11th October 2007, European house Slavonski Brod organised, in Opatija, an international seminar on future of youth in Europe. The seminar gathered around 70 educators from different educational institutions, NGO leaders and young people from about 15 European countries. Participants shared their experiences, different approaches to the issue of youth, and explored trends and priorities in years to come. Special accent was put on the following topics: education, lifelong learning, involvement of youth, employment of youth and volunteering. As a part of the seminar, a visit to High School Pazin and the Youth Parliament of City of Opatija was organised in order to directly present the actual way young people organise themselves and their activities, and how it is ensured that their involvement in managing and planning the programme of activities will be sufficient. Presentation on ways to activate the youth was held by Executive Director of YIA, Jan Zlatan Kulenović.
