THE FIRST LICENSED TRAINING FOR INFO OPERATIVES ON BALKANS (Sarajevo, 12.2007.)
YIABiH in cooperation with Forum MNE (Montenegro) and Youth Information and Counselling Centre of Slovenia (MISSS), from 8th to 11th December 2007 in Sarajevo, organised Minimal Basic Training Course for info operatives who work on informing the youth within the existing networks. Training programme licensed by ERYICA (European Youth and Counselling Agency) was passed by 18 youth operatives and volunteers, (Montenegro– 9, Bosnia and Herzegovina - 9). The training was led by Ljubo Raičević, Matjaž Medvešek and Tanja Novaković from the Youth Information and Counselling Centre of Slovenia.
During the course of four days, experienced coaches used the interactive workshops to transfer their knowledge and years of experience in informing and counselling the youth to participants, and that will surely be very useful for youth operatives who, with expertise and continuous education, have to prove the importance and purpose of their vocation to the broader community. The training included the following modules: Introduction and presentation of ICY (informing and counselling the youth), Theory and history, Ethics in the process of informing and counselling the youth, ICY Models, Sources and media, Informational needs of the youth, Communication, Counselling – intervention in the centre, Informing and participation of the youth, while, in the next term, IKT in everyday work and IKT Work Ethics will be studied.
Youth information agency is the first organisation in the region that has been professionally involved in informing the youth for many years now, and, in 2005, as a part of Info service, it started the network of Info desks (Bihać, Zenica, Zvornik and Mrkonjić Grad), info portal www.mladi.info and network of Info points for informing the youth throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. YIA has been a national partner of ERYICA since 2003.
